Our Engagement, Iceland & Scotland
In a three part series, over two different countries, Alex and I capture our engagement photos. Stopping at various scenic locations throughout our camper van road trip, we donned our finest attire, grabbed our trusty tripod, and had some fun in front of the lens. Trust me when I say, it’s not as easy as you might think, to take your own engagement photos (or maybe I was the only one who would think that it could be), but when timelines don’t line up with other photographers, and you and your fiancee are going to be in some of the loveliest places in the world, you just go for it! I wish I could fit our whole trip, all the beauty we saw and experienced in one session, but that’s just not possible. So enjoy some of the bits and pieces of beauty we captured in the background of our love story along the way <3
P.s: Alex, I love you darling, thank you for your patience throughout this adventure.
Iceland, Mýrdalsjökull Glacier
“She knew she loved him, when ‘home’ went from being a place, to being a person”
Part ii: We drove through previous night, until the stars came out in unfathomable numbers. We found a beat up road, and headed down the one lane path to find an area to rest our heads for the night. Eventually, Alex and I found our way to an an abandoned gravel lot, without quite knowing what was surrounding us, but we knew this place would do just fine for the time being. At the break of dawn, I stepped out of our camper van to find one of the most beautiful mountainsides, sprinkled with lava rocks, moss, and bright green vegetation. I ran back to the van, where Alex was slowly stirring awake, and asked him to put on his 2nd engagement outfit. This was our next spot I thought. Sure enough, the view got even better once we ran up the hill, with the enormous span of the icy blue Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, waiting for us in the background. Who would have thought, we had parked ourselves in the middle of such a beautiful, desolate place.
